McEvoy Ranch Herbes de Provence Organic Olive Oil, 100 ml

Price:
$16.00
Herbes de Provence is the southern French mix, thyme and rosemary and savory and the rest, and here it goes into the mill with the olives instead of being stirred into the finished oil.
Crushing them together, the agrumato method, pulls the aromatic oils out of the herbs at the same moment the olive oil is made, so the two are combined rather than layered.
McEvoy Ranch, West Marin, CCOF organic. 100 ml (3.4 fl oz).
Provencal herbs co-milled with the olives. Savoury and resinous, and the most straightforwardly useful of the flavoured range, since these are the herbs most roasting already wants.
Over roast chicken as it rests
On roasted potatoes or root vegetables, after the oven
Into a vinaigrette for a simple green salad
Over grilled lamb
Brushed on focaccia or flatbread as it comes out

The Brand
McEvoy Ranch
Nan McEvoy bought 550 acres of former dairy land in West Marin in 1990 and imported a thousand Tuscan olive seedlings from Italy to plant on it. The orchards are certified organic by CCOF and the fruit is milled on site, often within hours of picking, because olive oil does not improve with age.
The flavoured oils are made by the agrumato method, which means the basil, lemons, garlic or jalapenos are crushed together WITH the olives at the mill rather than steeped into finished oil afterwards. It is more work and more fruit, and it is the difference between an olive oil that tastes of lemon and an olive oil with lemon flavouring in it.
Pantry FAQs
Will this ship with my wine?
No, pantry items travel separately.
Pantry items are fulfilled by our partner retailer in California, so they ship on their own and will not arrive in the same box as your wine. Order both and you should expect two parcels, often on different days.
You will receive tracking for the pantry parcel within 3-4 business days.
Do I need to sign for the delivery?
No. Unlike wine, food does not need a signature.
Wine requires an adult signature on delivery. Pantry items do not, so they can be left at your door like any ordinary parcel.
Can I order pantry items on their own, without wine?
Yes, a pantry order stands on its own.
Yes. Nothing here is tied to a wine purchase. Shipping for pantry items is calculated separately at checkout.
How should I store it?
Check the label first.
Most of what we carry is shelf stable until it is opened, and would rather sit in a cool dark cupboard than on a sunny counter. Anything that needs refrigerating once opened says so on the label.
Something arrived damaged or wrong. What now?
Get in touch and we will sort it out.
Email us with your order number and a photo of the problem and we will make it right.
Why does a natural wine shop sell pantry items?
Because the bottle is rarely the whole evening.
These are things we actually cook with, picked by the same people who pick the wine. A good bottle tends to want something on the table next to it, and this is the shortlist we would hand a friend who asked.
