Why You Should Try It

The Wine: Kritt Pinot Blanc 2017

Marc Kreydenweiss Kritt Pinot Blanc is a white natural wine made from 100% Riesling grapes grown biodynamically in Alsace, France.

The Producer: Marc Kreydenweiss

Marc Kreydenweiss winery is located in Andlau, Alsace, between Strasbourg and Colmar, in an area called Piemont des Vosges. Nestled at the bottom of the mountains, the vineyard benefits from continental climate; the soils are based on a mosaic of terroirs which are completely different from each other in terms of geology: pink sandstone (Wibelsberg), black slate (Kastelberg), blue slate (Clos du Val d'Eléon and Clos Rebberg), marls and limestone (Moenchberg).

Marc Kreydenweiss transmitted his passion for wine, terroirs, and biodynamic farming to his children. Antoine Kreydenweiss took over the management of the vineyard in 2007, accompanied by his wife Charlotte, their daughters Zoe, Lilou, Leonie, and his horse. Together they share the same passion: create wines with personality which reveal the soul of each terroir.

The winery covers 13.5 hectares of vineyard, including 3 Grand Crus of Andlau: Wiebelsberg, Moenchberg and Kastelberg. A new Grand Cru is now part of the terroir diversity of the domaine: Kirchberg in Barr. Winemaking is based on natural methods, with the respect of the equilibrium of each wine. Production is about 70.000 bottles a year. Each year the label is illustrated by a different artist, chosen by the winemaker.
