The Wine: Rouge 2021

The Producer: Domaine Brand & Fils

Philippe partnered with his father in 2006, injecting a new impetus into their company, which they renamed Domaine Brand & Fils. In 2015, a new direction was taken: as Philippe wanted to go further in their journey, he obtained Biodynamic Agriculture certification from the organization Demeter. He also took the opportunity to extend the range of Natural Wines.

Domaine Brand is situated in the heart of “La Couronne d'Or” (Strasbourg’s vineyard), in a village named Ergersheim. It is a familial estate since the 1950s, founded by Philippe’s grandfather. They have farmed organically since 2001 and the harvest 2015 will be certified Demeter. The vineyard is spread on 10 hectares with low yielding, split on three neighborhood commons, Ergersheim, Ostoffen, and Wolhxeim, all farmed entirely organic.

Philippe took over the domain in 2008, and brought a new life to the vinification practices from his experiences in Burgundy at Domaine de Montchovet, in Greece on Peloponnese Island, and in Australia in the Barossa Valley. Philippe decided to push further the organic farming to the Biodynamic, and straight away made a few wines without the addition of sulfur.

Since the vintage 2013, Philippe decided to launch a Natural range of Wine called “Apollinaire”, which is actually the emblem of the domain. All the labels of this range are made with Apollinaire Caligram. All these cuvée are made without entrant, the total average of So2 for this range is 20mg/l, and 50mg/l for the Cuvée Apollinaire. (source: Merchants of Thirst)

Shipping Policy

Stress-Free Shipping

At Primal Wine, we like to be transparent about everything we do. When it comes to buying products online, shipping is the most important aspect, and that’s why we take great care in shipping and handling your order using only 100% recycled packaging material.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to re-route a package after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a $25 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancelling fee – the amount depends on how big the order is. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat damage

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HEAT-RELATED ISSUES. WE OFFER ICE-PACKS AS ONE OF OUR SHIPPING OPTIONS. PLEASE SELECT THAT OPTION SHOULD YOU THINK THAT THERE COULD BE HEAT-RELATED ISSUES.
