A Brazilian single origin, roasted medium. Golden raisin, nougat and citrus zest on the bag, which is Brazil doing what Brazil does: sweet, nutty, low acidity, the reason it ends up in most espresso blends on earth.

Red Bay was founded in Oakland in 2014 by Keba Konte and deliberately hires people specialty coffee has tended to leave out. Buying is direct, from smallholder cooperatives across Latin America and Africa.

The Brand

Red Bay Coffee

Keba Konte founded Red Bay in Oakland in 2014, and named it for the bay it looks out on. He describes the company as a vehicle as much as a roaster: for diversity and inclusion, for social and economic restoration, for environmental sustainability.

That shows up in who gets hired. Red Bay deliberately recruits people the specialty coffee industry has tended to leave out, particularly people of colour, the formerly incarcerated, women and people with disabilities.

Buying is direct, including Sweet Unity Farms in Tanzania and CENCOIC in Colombia, alongside smallholder cooperatives across Latin America and Africa.

Pantry FAQs

Pantry items are fulfilled by our partner retailer in California, so they ship on their own and will not arrive in the same box as your wine. Order both and you should expect two parcels, often on different days.

You will receive tracking for the pantry parcel within 3-4 business days.

Wine requires an adult signature on delivery. Pantry items do not, so they can be left at your door like any ordinary parcel.

Yes. Nothing here is tied to a wine purchase. Shipping for pantry items is calculated separately at checkout.

Most of what we carry is shelf stable until it is opened, and would rather sit in a cool dark cupboard than on a sunny counter. Anything that needs refrigerating once opened says so on the label.
