LIGHT BODYFULL BODY
Description

Folicello Pet Nat Limited Edition is crafted by Marco and Antonella in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, from certified organic grapes. This pétillant naturel features a blend of 90% Pignoletto and 10% Moscato sourced from their small estate in Castelfranco Emilia, Modena. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts with no added sulfites, following low-intervention winemaking practices. A short two-day maceration creates the wine's characteristic slight haziness and medium-light body structure typical of natural sparkling wines.

Tasting notes

Aromatic nose of orchard fruit leads to a palate bursting with fresh ripe peach and baking spice, creating a harmonious and refreshing sparkling wine experience.

Food pairings

Perfect with vegetarian appetizers, light pasta dishes, and tigelle, the traditional Modenese flatbreads served with salumi and soft cheeses.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to re-route a package after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancelling fee – the amount depends on how big the order is. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat/frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. please let us know should you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Producer profile

Folicello

Marco and Antonella, the passionate team behind Folicello, began their winemaking journey in the scenic Castelfranco Emilia, Modena, Emilia Romagna region. Since the early 1980s, their goal has been simple yet heartfelt: to create authentic, vibrant wines that reflect the beauty of their surroundings. Initially intended for personal enjoyment and sharing with friends, their endeavor has since evolved significantly.

Today, their modest estate features a modern cellar designed for efficient grape vinification. Beyond wine, Marco and Antonella have expanded their offerings to include organic jams and other grape-derived products, as well as a dedicated vinegar production facility. This expansion reflects their deep connection to the countryside and their appreciation for the enriched lifestyle it provides.

For this duo, winemaking extends beyond commercial success; it's about embracing and showcasing the benefits of organic viticulture. They believe in producing superior wines that are feasible and deeply fulfilling, embodying a sustainable, nature-aligned way of life. Winemaking for them is more than a profession; it's a means to demonstrate a harmonious coexistence with nature.

Wine region

Emilia–Romagna, Italy

Emilia-Romagna wine region ranks among Italy's most prolific viticultural areas, stretching 240 kilometers across northern Italy from Tuscany to the Adriatic Sea. This fertile wine region encompasses 53,000 hectares under vine and produces 6.1 million hectoliters annually, ranking third in Italy for wine production volume. The region's viticultural heritage dates back to the seventh century BC when Etruscans and Romans established viticulture along the Via Aemilia road.

Emilia-Romagna features diverse terroir from Po River plains to Apennine foothills, creating ideal conditions for both indigenous and international grape varieties. The region is famous for Lambrusco, the sparkling red wine that achieved global recognition, alongside premium Sangiovese di Romagna and Italy's first white DOCG, Albana di Romagna. Key grape varieties include Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Lambrusco, Barbera, Malvasia, and Pignoletto, supported by international varieties like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

With 19 DOC appellations and two DOCG designations, the region's wine production balances equally between whites and reds, benefiting from cooling influences of the Po River and Mediterranean climate. From Bologna to Modena, local producers create distinctive wines that reflect the region's rich culinary heritage and commitment to quality viticulture in northern Italy's dynamic wine landscape.
