Dreams on Layaway 2020

Stagiaire Wine • 750ml

$36.95

Stagiaire Wine Dreams on Layaway in the words of winemaker Brent Mayeaux: "There were three separate picks of my Summit Pinot vineyard. This one was right in the middle in terms of ripeness. We picked in a mixture of fog and smoke though we were lucky the air quality wasn't that bad. The grapes were pressed directly avoiding any maceration, the juice was rested to settle out as much ash as possible and then fermented and aged in neutral French Oak puncheons. It's pink wine. But like really fucking good, and handled exactly the way I would if I were trying to make fancy Chardonnay. There's a reduction that gets people excited. Crystalline in texture and energy. It’s still relaxing and unfurling after bottling and I think will continue to do so for several months. Loves a decant. Fun out of tiny plastic cups but can also be swirled, smelled, and talked about ad nauseam. Kid tested and somm-approved."

The Producer: Stagiaire Wine

Stagiaire Wine is a project led by soft-spoken talented winemaker Brent Mayeaux. Brent is part of a scene of young winemakers who are changing the face of the Santa Cruz Mountains wine region - the other being Ryan Stirm of Stirm Wine Co., Megan Bell of Margins Wine, and James Jelks of Florèz Wines. Brent's dedication, humble attitude, and talent are reflected in his wines, very precise, characterized by a perfectly balanced acidity that brings them to life. A must-try natural wine producer for all those who are willing to explore California's ever-complex natural wine landscape.

Shipping & Returns

Stress Free Shipping

At Primal Wine we like to be transparent about everything we do. When it comes to buying products online, shipping is the most important aspect, and that’s why we take great care in shipping and handling your order using only 100% recycled packaging material.

Re-shipping

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, which will be determined based on quantity and shipping address. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

Important Compliance Requirements

UPS and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older.

Important COVID Update

UPS and FedEx declared that in order to protect their workers and customers, they no longer require a signature on delivery. This does not mean they will drop a wine box at your door. UPS delivery workers will make sure the person receiving the wine is 21 years or older, and will ask for his/her name - only then do they deliver the package.

Shipping Rates and Options

An important premise: wine bottles are heavy – about 3 pounds each – and shipping is expensive! Primal Wine is not backed by venture capital money – we proudly are a mom and pop independent online store – and we must charge shipping on most orders, otherwise we wouldn’t be in business. However, we try our best to offer you very competitive shipping rates and frequent free shipping discount. Please subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop!

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us via e-mail at hello@primalwine.com between 9 am and 5 pm Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Sunday, we would like to understand and try to solve your concerns. Returning wine is not allowed by law, and so we might make arrangements for a refund if appropriate
