Domaine de Grisy

In the village of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, just south of Chablis, Pascal Sorin tends vines that his family has farmed for eighteen generations.

Backstory

Domaine de Grisy has belonged to the Sorin family across eighteen generations, with Pascal Sorin now running the estate alongside his wife.

The Region

The estate lies in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in the Cotes d'Auxerre, a subregion of northern Burgundy north of Chablis, on limestone-clay soils that give the wines pronounced minerality and freshness.

Vineyards & Farming

The family farms its vines organically across roughly nine hectares, focused on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Winemaking

Grapes are hand harvested, directly pressed and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts, then aged in stainless steel to preserve purity. The wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal added sulfites.

The Wines

The domaine makes a mineral, fruit-forward Bourgogne Chardonnay and a light, low-tannin Pinot Noir with aromas of fresh red fruit, leather and earth.
