Sightglass Ethiopia Coffee Beans, 12 oz

Price: $29.00

Yirgacheffe, in Ethiopia, which is the address most people's idea of floral coffee traces back to.

Apricot, chamomile and cantaloupe on the bag: stone fruit, a tea-like flower and melon, none of which sounds like coffee to anyone who has only drunk it dark. Sightglass source directly at origin in freshly harvested lots and roast in small batches.

12 oz, whole bean.

The Brand

Sightglass Coffee

Sightglass started in 2009 as a cart in San Francisco's SoMa, run by brothers Jerad and Justin Morrison, and grew into a roastery and cafe on 7th Street.

The name comes from the sightglass, the small viewing window on their vintage Probat roaster that lets you watch the beans change colour. It is a fair summary of the house position, which is that you should be able to see what is happening.

They buy directly at origin, in freshly harvested lots, and roast in small batches. Cafes now in SoMa, the Mission, Divisadero, Berkeley and Hollywood.

Pantry FAQs

Pantry items are fulfilled by our partner retailer in California, so they ship on their own and will not arrive in the same box as your wine. Order both and you should expect two parcels, often on different days.

You will receive tracking for the pantry parcel within 3-4 business days.

Wine requires an adult signature on delivery. Pantry items do not, so they can be left at your door like any ordinary parcel.

Yes. Nothing here is tied to a wine purchase. Shipping for pantry items is calculated separately at checkout.

Most of what we carry is shelf stable until it is opened, and would rather sit in a cool dark cupboard than on a sunny counter. Anything that needs refrigerating once opened says so on the label.

Email us with your order number and a photo of the problem and we will make it right.

These are things we actually cook with, picked by the same people who pick the wine. A good bottle tends to want something on the table next to it, and this is the shortlist we would hand a friend who asked.
