Pachamama Machu Picchu Coffee Beans, 10 oz

Price: $20.00

From Santa Teresa in Cusco, Peru, high in the Andes, and roasted to Vienna, which is a step darker than full city and just short of French.

Rich, caramel and chocolate on the bag, which is what that roast level does to a high-grown Peruvian coffee: it trades the acidity for weight and sweetness. Organic, and farmer owned, meaning the Peruvian cooperative is part owner of the company.

10 oz, whole bean.

The Brand

Pachamama Coffee Cooperative

Pachamama is owned by the farmers who grow the coffee. Not partnered with, not sourced from: owned. Cooperatives in Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and Ethiopia each hold a fifth of the company and each send a representative to the board.

It has worked this way since 2006, roasting and selling in Sacramento so that the growers capture the part of the margin that normally stops at the importer. Their president's line on it is that the model generates wealth for their families and communities, and also dignity.

Everything is organic.

Pantry FAQs

Pantry items are fulfilled by our partner retailer in California, so they ship on their own and will not arrive in the same box as your wine. Order both and you should expect two parcels, often on different days.

You will receive tracking for the pantry parcel within 3-4 business days.

Wine requires an adult signature on delivery. Pantry items do not, so they can be left at your door like any ordinary parcel.

Yes. Nothing here is tied to a wine purchase. Shipping for pantry items is calculated separately at checkout.

Most of what we carry is shelf stable until it is opened, and would rather sit in a cool dark cupboard than on a sunny counter. Anything that needs refrigerating once opened says so on the label.

Email us with your order number and a photo of the problem and we will make it right.

These are things we actually cook with, picked by the same people who pick the wine. A good bottle tends to want something on the table next to it, and this is the shortlist we would hand a friend who asked.
