Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

No Control

No Control is the domaine of Vincent Marie, established in Volvic in the northern Puy-de-Dôme in 2013. Vincent grew up in Normandy and began his professional life in sports marketing before a first encounter with natural wine in 2003 set him on a different path. He completed a BTS in viticulture and oenology and trained as an intern with Patrick Meyer and Bruno Schueller in Alsace, two winemakers whose minimal-intervention approach left a lasting mark on his thinking. It was the work of Patrick Bouju in Auvergne, however, that drew him to Volvic, a town internationally associated with its mineral water but sitting on some of the most compelling volcanic vineyard soils in France.

Vincent acquired 1.5 hectares in 2012, founded the domaine in 2013, and expanded to approximately 5 hectares by 2015 after adding parcels from the historic Château de Tournoël. The estate spans multiple volcanic soil types: feldspathic sand, granitic sand, and basaltic scoria, each of which feeds a different cuvée. Vines range from 5 to 120 years old. The older parcels on basalt are the source of Délire du Désordre, a cuvée that serves as a vintage snapshot drawing from the estate's most characterful old-vine Gamay material.

All vineyard work is done manually with the aid of a horse, with no synthetic inputs at any stage. In the cellar, indigenous yeast fermentations and whole-bunch macerations are standard, with aging vessel chosen based on the character of each harvest. No additions are made, and all wines are bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfites. Cuvée names across the range reference Vincent's passion for rock and punk music.

On Primal Wine, the No Control range includes No Control Fusion 2024, No Control Incendie & Pillage 2024, No Control Magma Rock, and No Control Tournoël Riot. Discover more standout bottles in our best-sellers collection.

Wine region

Auvergne, France

Volvic sits in the northern Puy-de-Dôme within the Auvergne wine region, at the foot of the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed chain of dormant volcanoes stretching across the Massif Central in south-central France. The soils here are among the most geologically varied in French viticulture, shifting parcel by parcel between granitic sand, feldspathic sand, basaltic scoria, and ancient lava deposits. For No Control Délire du Désordre 2024, the relevant terroir is granitic sand and basaltic scoria, soils that are free-draining, mineral-rich, and capable of producing wines with a distinctive smoky, iron-inflected character.

The climate is semi-continental, with hot, dry summers and cold winters, moderated by altitude. Vineyards in and around Volvic typically sit between 350 and 500 meters, where diurnal temperature variation preserves acidity and freshness in the grapes even during warm years. This combination of volcanic soils and altitude is what draws producers like Vincent Marie to farm here rather than in more established appellations.

Auvergne received its Côtes d'Auvergne AOC in 2011, covering five sub-zones: Boudes, Châteaugay, Chanturgue, Corent, and Madargue. Gamay is the dominant red variety across the region, with a local biotype called Gamay d'Auvergne valued for its later ripening and firmer acidity relative to the Beaujolais clone. However, many of the most creative producers, No Control among them, work under the Vin de France designation to avoid the constraints of the AOC and preserve full flexibility in the cellar.

The broader revival of Auvergne as a source of serious natural wine has been led by producers drawn to its low land prices, untouched old-vine material, and volcanic terroir diversity. Explore our full French natural wine selection and our red natural wine collection on Primal Wine.
