  • Style: Medium to full-bodied dry red, deeply colored, with plush dark fruit, a spiced quality from the carbonic maceration component, and a mineral undercurrent from the volcanic soil; structured for early drinking and short-term cellaring; 13% ABV
  • Grapes & Terroir: Gamay d'Auvergne and Gamay de Beaujolais; feldspathic volcanic sand soils in Volvic, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne; organically and biodynamically farmed; Vin de France
  • Winemaking: Two-vat approach: whole bunches macerated in juice with grape trampling in one, carbonic maceration in the other; three-week maceration total; blended post-pressing; aged eight months split between vat and a 15 hl cask; native yeast fermentation; no additions; unfined, unfiltered, no added sulfites
  • Serving Temperature & Decanting: Serve at 57–61°F; a 15-minute open in the glass softens the wine and helps the spiced, volcanic mineral notes settle; no formal decanting required
  • Pairing: Truffade (traditional Auvergne potato and Cantal cheese dish)
  • Similar To: Drinkers familiar with darker, more structured expressions of Gamay from Moulin-à-Vent or Morgon will find the weight and depth recognizable

This Gamay-Pinot Noir blend shows real depth and aging potential—unusual for natural wine at this price point. Serve at 57-61°F; a brief 15-minute decant allows the aromatics to open. Pairs beautifully with grilled game birds. Similar to a structured Côtes d'Auvergne red or a lighter Morgon from Beaujolais.

Product description

No Control Fusion 2024 is a red wine by Vincent Marie of No Control, produced from Gamay d'Auvergne and Gamay de Beaujolais grown on feldspathic volcanic sand soils in Volvic, Puy-de-Dôme. Grapes are hand-harvested in small 18-kilogram crates and vinified in two separate fiberglass vats: one with whole-bunch maceration in juice and grape trampling, the other with carbonic maceration. Both vats are blended after three weeks, then the wine ages half in vat and half in a 15-hectoliter cask for eight months. No Control Fusion 2024 is bottled without additions, fining, or filtration.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

No Control

No Control is the project of Vincent Marie, based in Volvic in the northern Puy-de-Dôme. Vincent grew up in Normandy but arrived in Auvergne after a formative education in natural wine that took him first to Alsace, where he trained alongside Patrick Meyer and Bruno Schueller, two of the region's most influential minimal-intervention producers. That experience shaped his approach in the vineyard and cellar. In 2012 he relocated to Volvic, drawn by the volcanic terroirs he had encountered through the wines of Patrick Bouju and other Auvergne producers. He founded No Control in 2013 after acquiring his first 1.5 hectares of vines and completed Demeter biodynamic certification shortly after.

Today the estate covers approximately five hectares spread across multiple parcels on volcanic, basaltic, and granitic soils. Vines range from 5 to 120 years old, with older parcels contributing to wines with greater concentration and complexity. In 2015, Vincent added vines from the historic Château de Tournoël, expanding both his holdings and the diversity of his portfolio. The estate grows Gamay d'Auvergne alongside Gamay de Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sylvaner, Damas Noir, and Pinot Auxerrois, from which he produces between five and seven cuvées per vintage depending on the year. All vineyard work is done with horses; no synthetic inputs are used at any stage.

In the cellar, the approach is consistent across the range: indigenous yeast fermentations, whole-bunch maceration, no additions, no fining, no filtration, and no added sulfites. Each wine's name is drawn from Vincent's passion for rock, punk, and metal music.

On Primal Wine, the No Control range includes No Control Fusion 2024, No Control Incendie & Pillage 2024, No Control Magma Rock, and No Control Tournoël Riot. Browse more exceptional bottles in our best-sellers collection.

Wine region

Auvergne, France

Auvergne occupies the center of the Massif Central in south-central France, a region of ancient and more recent volcanic formations that together create one of the most geologically singular wine terroirs in the country. The northern Puy-de-Dôme, where Vincent Marie farms for No Control Fusion 2024, lies within the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed chain of dormant volcanoes that includes more than 80 distinct volcanic peaks. The soils here range from granitic sand and basaltic scoria to the feldspathic sand of Volvic itself, each soil type imparting a distinct mineral character to the wines grown on it.

Volvic is better known internationally for its mineral water, which filters through the same volcanic rock layers that underlie the vineyards. These permeable, free-draining soils warm quickly in spring and release stored heat gradually through cool nights, supporting even ripening in a climate that can be both hot in summer and cold in winter. The semi-continental climate of the Puy-de-Dôme gives the wines a freshness and tension that volcanic-soil structure helps define.

Auvergne has held the Côtes d'Auvergne AOC designation since 2011, with five recognized sub-zones: Châteaugay, Chanturgue, Corent, Boudes, and Madargue. Gamay dominates the appellation, planted extensively because of its proven affinity with the local soils and climate. Gamay d'Auvergne, a local biotype that ripens later than the Beaujolais clone, holds particular importance for producers like Vincent Marie, who value its distinct spiced character and higher acidity. Many of the most forward-thinking producers in the region, including No Control, operate under the Vin de France designation rather than the AOC, preferring the creative freedom it offers.
