Tasting notes

The Muscat brings immediate floral and orange blossom aromatics while the Auxerrois adds body and keeps the wine from feeling one-dimensional. Two weeks of Muscat maceration before bottling gives the pét nat a slightly textured quality rare in the style, with a saline, granitic finish that lingers after the bubbles dissipate.

A Chacun sa Bulle is a pétillant naturel made by Jean-Louis and Eric Kamm in Dambach-la-Ville, a fortified medieval village in the Bas-Rhin sub-region of Alsace, France. The wine is a blend of certified organic Auxerrois and Muscat Blanc grapes grown on granite-rich parcels sitting at approximately 500 meters above sea level on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains.

The wine is made using the méthode ancestrale: fermentation begins in tank and finishes in the sealed bottle, creating natural carbonation without any secondary addition. It is bottled without disgorgement, left unfiltered and unfined, and no sulfites are added at any stage. The Muscat component undergoes a two-week maceration before blending. The result is a hazy, lightly effervescent wine with the aromatic intensity typical of Muscat balanced by the rounder, lower-acid character of Auxerrois.

Dambach-la-Ville sits above one of Alsace's most distinctive terroirs. The vineyards are rooted in decomposed two-mica granite, the same geological substrate that defines the nearby Frankstein Grand Cru. These sandy, free-draining granite soils produce wines with a characteristic saline minerality. The Vosges mountains to the west act as a rain shadow, making this one of the driest growing zones in France, which supports full phenolic ripeness without excessive alcohol.

Serve with Alsatian tarte flambée, fresh goat cheese, or charcuterie. The saline minerality and light effervescence make it a reliable partner for spiced dishes like chicken with curry or ginger. It also works well as an aperitif alongside floral-forward soft cheeses such as Munster.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

Producer profile

Eric Kamm

The Kamm domaine in Dambach-la-Ville has been a grower-producer since 1905, passing from father to son across several generations. Eric Kamm took over the family estate in 2005 and immediately began converting the vineyards to organic farming, obtaining organic certification after the transition period. The domaine farms approximately 6.5 to 7 hectares of vines distributed across multiple parcels around Dambach-la-Ville.

The vineyards sit at around 500 meters above sea level on decomposed granite soils, higher than the Alsatian average. Planted varieties include Riesling, Auxerrois, Muscat, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. No herbicides, synthetic products, or chemical fertilizers are used. Eric works small yields to concentrate fruit expression from these granite-rich parcels, which also include access to the Frankstein Grand Cru.

Fermentations in the cellar use only native yeasts present on the grape skins, without temperature control, in stainless steel tanks or concrete vats. Under Eric's direction, the domaine produces both a traditional organic range and a natural wine range with no added sulfur. The A Chacun sa Bulle pét nat is bottled before fermentation completes, finishes in the bottle via méthode ancestrale, and is released without fining, filtration, or sulfite additions.

Wine region

Alsace, France

Alsace occupies a narrow strip of land on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains in northeast France, bordered by the Rhine river to the east and Germany beyond it. The Vosges act as a rain shadow, making Alsace one of the driest wine regions in France, with long, dry, sunny growing seasons and significant diurnal temperature shifts that preserve acidity. Vineyards are concentrated between approximately 175 and 420 meters elevation, with the higher sites around Dambach-la-Ville reaching up to 500 meters.

Alsace produces wines under three principal appellations: Alsace AOC for varietal still wines, Alsace Grand Cru AOC for wines from 51 classified hillside sites, and Crémant d'Alsace AOC for traditional-method sparkling wines. Dambach-la-Ville is home to the Frankstein Grand Cru, a 56-hectare site composed of four south to southeast-facing hillsides unified by their geology: both topsoil and subsoil are decomposed two-mica granite, a free-draining substrate that concentrates minerals in the vine and contributes a distinct saline quality to the wines. Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat are the permitted varieties across the Grand Cru appellations.
