Medium Body

Medium-bodied wines sit in the sweet spot of versatility: enough structure to stand up to food, but light enough to drink on their own. This collection covers some of the most food-friendly styles in natural wine, from Barbera, Dolcetto, and Mencia to Trousseau, Pinot Noir, and balanced Sangiovese. These wines have real presence without demanding your full attention, which makes them ideal for weeknight dinners and easy gatherings.

Read more about medium-bodied natural wine

Medium body is the most versatile place to be in wine. There is enough structure and grip to stand up to a meal, but enough freshness and lift to enjoy a glass on its own. The grapes that live here are some of the great food reds of Europe: Barbera and Dolcetto from Piedmont, Mencia from northwest Spain, Trousseau and Poulsard from the Jura, Cabernet Franc from the Loire, and Sangiovese from across central Italy, along with plenty of Pinot Noir.

These wines tend to show red and dark fruit, fresh acidity, savory or earthy notes, and tannin that is present but never heavy. Many of the bottles in this collection are farmed organically or biodynamically and made with native yeasts and minimal additions, which keeps them balanced and drinkable rather than weighty. It is the sweet spot for everyday drinking with real character.

Serve them at cool room temperature, and give the more structured examples a little air. They pair with almost anything on a weeknight table, from pasta and pizza to roast chicken, grilled vegetables, and hard cheese. Explore lighter and bigger styles in our light-bodied and full-bodied collections.

Process time is not shipping time. Shipping time starts from the days successive to the day of shipping, after the order has been processed.

See here our shipping policy.

Signature on delivery is mandatory for wine deliveries. Please make sure someone is at the shipping address to sign for the package.

If applicable, please consider delivering the package to a business address to ensure someone is available to sign for the package.

We also have the option of delivering the package to a Carrier's store for pickup. Please reach out to us to coordinate.

Carrier will try to delivery a package up to three times before returning the package to us.

See here our shipping policy.

If you miss a delivery and a package gets returned to us we have two options:

1) Reship the package right away: due to the very high cost of shipping and returns, we must charge a re-shipping fee to be determined based on package size and shipping destination.

2) Consolidate the returned package with your next order: this option is free of charge and it's the most popular option.

See here our shipping policy.

Medium body sits between light and full: enough structure and tannin to stand up to food, but enough freshness to enjoy a glass on its own. It is the most versatile and food-friendly weight in wine, and a reliable place to start if you are unsure what to pour.

Some of Europe's great food reds live here: Barbera and Dolcetto from Piedmont, Mencia from northwest Spain, Trousseau and Poulsard from the Jura, Cabernet Franc from the Loire, Sangiovese from central Italy, and plenty of Pinot Noir.

Exceptionally. Fresh acidity and moderate tannin make these wines pair with a huge range of dishes, from pasta and pizza to roast chicken, grilled vegetables, and hard cheese. It is the classic weeknight-dinner style.

Serve at cool room temperature, around 60 to 65 degrees, and give the more structured bottles a little air. A short time in a decanter helps the more tannic examples open up.

Many of the bottles in this collection are farmed organically or biodynamically and made with native yeasts and minimal additions, which keeps them balanced and drinkable. Farming details are noted on individual products where available.
