Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Gulp Hablo

Three brothers—Francisco, Javier, and Luis Parra—launched their winemaking project in 1993, when organic viticulture remained virtually unknown in La Mancha. The Parra family had farmed this land for generations, but the brothers chose a different path: they would grow grapes organically and biodynamically, creating a self-sustaining agricultural ecosystem in the high desert of central Spain.

Their estate near Las Mesas encompasses approximately 445 acres (180 hectares) across two vineyard sites. Entresendas ("Between Paths") occupies an ancient riverbed where alluvial soils provide natural drainage and reflected heat. Olla del Monte, nicknamed Cuesta Colorá for its colorful appearance, features chalky clay slopes covered with pebbles that store warmth through cool desert nights. By 1996, they were exporting their first certified organic wines.

In 2004, the family expanded significantly, constructing new facilities at Cuesta Colorá and transitioning fully to biodynamic practices. They diversified beyond grapes to include livestock, garlic, grains, peas, and lentils—completing an agricultural cycle where each element supports the others. Today, Bodegas Parra Jiménez holds Demeter certification for biodynamic farming.

Since 2017, Pablo Parra (Javier's son) has led winemaking efforts, bringing fresh energy after studying at the University of Ribera del Duero. He works alongside Juan Antonio Ponce of Bodegas Ponce, whose guidance has shaped the Gulp Hablo line. Pablo has introduced orange wines, pétillant naturels, and amphorae-aged cuvées alongside traditional styles.

The Gulp Hablo name—a play on "gulpable"—signals the wines' intention: approachable, affordable, everyday drinking from biodynamic grapes. The one-liter format reinforces this casual philosophy. All wines are vegan, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and bottled with minimal intervention.

Wine region

Castilla la Mancha, Spain

Castilla-La Mancha sprawls across Spain's central plateau, forming one of Europe's largest wine-producing regions. The vast high-desert landscape surrounds the cities of Toledo, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Albacete, with vineyards stretching across the arid meseta at elevations often exceeding 700 meters. This is Don Quixote country—the windmills he famously tilted at still dot the horizon.

The continental climate brings extreme temperature swings: scorching summers can reach over 100°F, while winters drop below freezing. Rainfall is scarce, typically under 400mm annually, making irrigation a necessity for many vineyards. However, these harsh conditions also reduce disease pressure, creating favorable conditions for organic and biodynamic viticulture. The dramatic diurnal temperature variation—hot days followed by cool nights—helps grapes retain acidity while achieving ripeness.

Soils vary considerably across the region. The Gulp Hablo vineyards occupy two distinct sites near the village of Las Mesas: Entresendas sits in an ancient riverbed with nutrient-rich alluvial deposits, while Olla del Monte (locally called Cuesta Colorá, "the colored slope") features chalky clay topped with pebbles that absorb daytime heat and radiate it through the cool desert nights.

Airén historically dominated La Mancha's vineyards—it remains one of the world's most planted white varieties—but the region now cultivates diverse grapes including Tempranillo (locally called Cencibel), Garnacha, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, and Macabeo. Several Denominaciones de Origen exist within Castilla-La Mancha, including DO La Mancha, Valdepeñas, and Manchuela.

The region has undergone significant quality transformation, moving beyond bulk wine production toward estate-bottled wines emphasizing terroir expression. Biodynamic pioneers like the Parra brothers demonstrate that La Mancha's high-altitude vineyards can produce distinctive, characterful wines.
