Coffee Manufactory numbers its coffees instead of naming them. 01 is the espresso, the bag Tartine pulls shots from in its own bakeries.

The company started in 2016 roasting two blends for Tartine, built by Chris Jordan, previously Starbucks' director of coffee quality and before that at Verve. An espresso designed to sit next to that bakery's bread and pastry is a specific brief, and this is it.

Coffee Manufactory started in 2016, roasting two blends for Tartine Bakery. Tartine wanted coffee that could stand next to its bread and pastry, and brought in Chris Jordan, formerly Starbucks' director of coffee quality and before that at Verve, to build it.

They buy through partnerships and collaborations rather than conventional vendor relationships, with a team carrying more than two decades of green coffee supply chain experience between them. The range is numbered rather than named: 00 decaf, 01 espresso, 02 filter, then rotating regional slots.

Pantry FAQs

Pantry items are fulfilled by our partner retailer in California, so they ship on their own and will not arrive in the same box as your wine. Order both and you should expect two parcels, often on different days.

You will receive tracking for the pantry parcel within 3-4 business days.

Wine requires an adult signature on delivery. Pantry items do not, so they can be left at your door like any ordinary parcel.

Yes. Nothing here is tied to a wine purchase. Shipping for pantry items is calculated separately at checkout.

Most of what we carry is shelf stable until it is opened, and would rather sit in a cool dark cupboard than on a sunny counter. Anything that needs refrigerating once opened says so on the label.
