Product description

Brunier Le Pigeoulet Vaucluse Rouge 2024 is a Grenache-dominant red blend produced by Vignobles Brunier under the IGP Vaucluse designation. Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre complete the blend. The grapes come from two parcels: around 7 to 10 hectares on the southwest-facing lower slopes of Mont Ventoux near Caromb, and 3 hectares on the east bank of the Rhône, 15 kilometers north of Avignon. Grapes are hand-harvested, fully destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled cement tanks. Brunier Le Pigeoulet Vaucluse Rouge 2024 is aged in a combination of cement tanks and large oak foudres for approximately six to eighteen months before bottling.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Famille Brunier

Vignobles Brunier is the collective name for all estates and cuvées managed by the Brunier family, one of the longest-established winemaking dynasties in the southern Rhône. The family's roots in the region trace back to 1891, when Hippolyte Brunier planted vines on the La Crau plateau in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate he founded, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, takes its name from the optical telegraph relay tower installed on those same vineyards by Claude Chappe in 1821. Six generations of the Brunier family have managed the property since, making it one of the most historically continuous operations in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The fifth generation, brothers Frédéric and Daniel Brunier, significantly broadened the family's geographic scope beginning in the 1980s. In 1986, they acquired Domaine La Roquète, from which they developed Le Pigeoulet as a separate cuvée drawing on vineyards outside the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC. The intention was to produce an everyday wine that reflected the same winemaking philosophy applied to Vieux Télégraphe: estate-grown fruit only, hand harvesting, native yeast fermentation, and aging in large foudres. Le Pigeoulet became, over time, a well-regarded introduction to the Brunier style at a more accessible price. In 1998, Frédéric and Daniel purchased a 25-hectare share of Domaine Les Pallières in Gigondas in partnership with Kermit Lynch, and the family also has a stake in Massaya in Lebanon. The sixth generation, led by Édouard Brunier, is now actively involved in day-to-day operations.

Across the portfolio, the Brunier approach is defined by restraint and terroir transparency rather than extraction or heavy oak influence. Whether at the level of Vieux Télégraphe or Le Pigeoulet, the wines share the same foundational commitment to farming quality and minimal cellar intervention.

Wine region

Rhône Valley, France

The IGP Vaucluse is a broad geographic indication covering the Vaucluse department in the southern Rhône and northern Provence. As an IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée), it permits a wider range of grape varieties and blending options than the stricter AOC appellations that surround it, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Ventoux. This flexibility has made IGP Vaucluse a preferred designation for producers who draw from multiple sub-zones or whose blends fall outside the varietal rules of a given AOC. For Vignobles Brunier, it allows them to combine fruit from their parcels near Châteauneuf-du-Pape with grapes grown on the slopes of Mont Ventoux into a single cuvée.

The two source parcels for Le Pigeoulet sit within clearly distinct terroirs. The east-bank Rhône parcel, located roughly 15 kilometers north of Avignon, benefits from the stony alluvial soils and full Mediterranean sun exposure that characterize the flatlands and low terraces around Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Mont Ventoux parcel, on the other hand, sits on the southwest-facing lower slopes of the mountain near Caromb, where the altitude moderates temperatures, extends the growing season, and introduces a freshness rarely found at lower elevations in the southern Rhône. Together, these two terroirs bring complementary qualities: richness and warmth from the Rhône plain, and aromatic lift and acidity from the Ventoux hillside.

The Vaucluse as a whole is shaped by the Mediterranean climate, with long, hot summers, mild winters, and the persistent influence of the Mistral wind, which reduces humidity, limits disease pressure, and keeps the vines in good health. Grenache thrives in these conditions and dominates most serious red blends from the region.
