Tasting notes

The early-harvest field blend strategy keeps the acidity vivid and the alcohol low, giving the wine a bright, almost crackling freshness that is hard to find at this price point. Grapefruit pith, fresh herbs, and a saline mineral finish make it one of the more compelling easy-drinking whites out of South Australia.

The Agori White is a field blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Riesling sourced from organically farmed vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Fruit is harvested early to lock in acidity and keep residual sugar low, resulting in a dry, light-bodied white with a noticeably tense, electric quality. The wine is made without any additions, including zero added sulphur, and is neither fined nor filtered.

In the cellar, Travis Tausend uses a manual basket press and spontaneous native yeast fermentation throughout. No pumpovers. The approach is minimal by design: the goal is to let the fruit and the cool-climate acidity of the Adelaide Hills speak without interference.

The 2019 shows herbaceous and grapefruit character typical of this blend, with fleshy white fruit filling out the mid-palate. Minerality runs through the finish. At 12.5% ABV it drinks easily, but there is enough texture and grip to make it worth pausing over.

The high acidity and herbaceous character make this a reliable match for seafood dishes, particularly oysters, grilled prawns, or lemon-dressed fish. It also works well with fresh goat cheese, green salads with citrus vinaigrette, or Vietnamese-style dishes with fresh herbs. Serve well chilled at 45-48F.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Travis Tausend

Travis Tausend has been involved in natural wine since 2005, first as an importer running Høst Wine Imports and then as the operator of Adelaide's first natural wine bar and enoteca. Those years of tasting and trading shaped his approach before he made a single bottle under his own label. He eventually transitioned to winemaking full time, sourcing fruit from organically farmed vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, particularly around Hope Forest in the southern tip of the region, one of the coolest sites in the Hills, cooled by two separate wind patterns.

Tausend runs the project almost entirely solo, handling logistics, winemaking, blending, bottling, labelling, and marketing himself. During harvest he brings in a small paid crew. All fruit comes from organically managed sites. In the vineyard, he selects and manages specific rows in collaboration with the vineyard owners.

In the winery, Tausend uses a hand-driven basket press and manual destemmer. Fermentations are spontaneous with native yeasts, no pumpovers are performed, and nothing is added at any stage, including sulphur. The wines are not fined or filtered before bottling. The result is a zero-zero portfolio where vintage variation and early harvest timing are the primary tools for shaping each wine's character.

Wine region

Adelaide Hills, Australia

The Adelaide Hills GI sits in the Mount Lofty Ranges, southeast of the city of Adelaide in South Australia. Vineyards range from 300 to 700 meters above sea level, with peak sites concentrated between 500 and 650 meters. The elevation drives mean January temperatures around 19.1 degrees Celsius, roughly 4 degrees cooler than Adelaide itself. Afternoon cooling arrives from both the Gulf St Vincent to the west and the Southern Ocean to the south, extending the growing season to 140 or more days and preserving natural acidity in the fruit.

Soils across the GI vary considerably with topography: grey-brown and brown loamy sands dominate at lower elevations, while upper slopes carry sandy soils over clay subsoils, and some sites show shale and rock inclusions. The two formally recognized sub-regions are Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley, both identified for their specific microclimates and soil profiles. The main grape varieties grown in the region are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz, though Riesling and Semillon also appear. Ripening conditions in Piccadilly Valley are frequently compared to Champagne, which is why the region has become a benchmark for Australian cool-climate white wine.
