Chateau des Moriers

Vigneronne Anne-Victoire Monrozier, fifth generation at Chateau des Moriers in Fleurie

Château des Moriers pairs deep Beaujolais roots with one of the region's most restless modern minds: Anne-Victoire Monrozier, better known to the wine world as Miss Vicky Wine.

Backstory

The estate has been a family vineyard since 1855. Anne-Victoire Monrozier represents the fifth generation. A pioneering wine blogger and entrepreneur before she returned to the family domaine, she has long pushed against the conservatism of her sector. In 2025 Christian Seely joined to help lead the estate through its next chapter.

The Region & Vineyards

The domaine lies in Fleurie, in the heart of the Beaujolais crus, and farms around nine hectares across two of the most renowned crus, Fleurie and Moulin-a-Vent, including the lieu-dit Les Moriers. The soils are granite and clay, classic Beaujolais bedrock that gives the Gamay its perfume and grip. The vines include very old parcels, and the estate earned organic certification in 2024, with a stated commitment to regenerative farming.

The Wines

The Fleurie shows the cru's florality and freshness, while the Moulin-a-Vent from a one-hectare parcel of old vines offers more structure and aging potential, earning high marks from critics. Monrozier's experimental streak shows in cuvees like the canned Fleurie "O Joie," a crisp, fruit-driven red that brought serious cru Beaujolais to an unexpected format. Heritage and invention sit side by side here.
