Ca Foracaime

Ca Foracaime - natural wine producer profile | Primal Wine illustration

Ca Foracaime was born in the Terra Alta, in the village of Pinell de Brai in Catalonia, where winegrowing runs deep in the family's history. The wines themselves, though, are recent: it was only with new plantings in 2019 that the project as it exists today took shape and reached the market.

The Region

Terra Alta is a high, remote corner of inland Catalonia in north-eastern Spain, a warm but elevated landscape that has long been a source of traditional Mediterranean varieties. Ca Foracaime sets out to capture the essence of this land with as little intervention as possible.

Farming & Philosophy

The estate's approach is deliberately natural and hands-off, prioritising artisanal craft over mechanisation, which is kept to a minimum. The aim is to let the grapes and the place speak rather than to impose a house signature in the cellar.

Winemaking

Fermentation is driven exclusively by native, naturally occurring yeasts. No sulfites are added, and the wines are made with minimal handling throughout, an honest, low-intervention style meant to reflect both the vineyard and the family's winemaking roots.

The Wines

Ca Foracaime's small range includes characterful natural bottlings, among them a pet-nat (Waterfly) and cuvées such as Mina and Tres Forques, each made in the same additive-free spirit.
