Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Viña Echeverría

Viña Echeverría is a family estate in Molina, in the eastern Curicó Valley of Chile, with roots in the region going back to the 1740s when the Echeverría family emigrated from Amezqueta, a small town in Spain's Basque Country, and established agricultural holdings in Chile. In 1930, Roger Piffre de Vauban, a French engineer from Montpellier and the maternal grandfather of the current winemaker, traveled to Curicó and planted ungrafted vines from French pre-phylloxera rootstock on a parcel called La Estancia in Molina. He built a winery equipped with French machinery to supply the domestic market.

The estate was formally established at its current location in 1923 and expanded across 80 hectares of vineyards on those same pre-phylloxera French rootstocks. Originally producing bulk wine, the family converted to bottling and exporting quality wines in 1990, becoming one of Chile's first boutique wineries and the first Chilean family winery to sell wine to Harrods in London. Roberto Echeverría Jr. took over as Technical Director and Chief Winemaker with his first solo vintage in 2001 and has led the estate since, alongside his four children, Paulina, Viviana, Roberto, and Diego.

The No Es Pituko line, whose name translates loosely as "not pretentious" in Chilean slang, represents the estate's natural wine range: minimal intervention, wild fermentation, no added sulfites, and unfined and unfiltered bottlings. These wines are made from sustainably grown vines averaging 37 years of age at 797 ft elevation on the eastern side of Curicó. The Orange is made from 100% organically grown Sauvignon Blanc with 60 days of skin maceration, reflecting a deliberate move by the estate toward transparency of process and terroir expression alongside its conventional range.

Wine region

Curicó Valley, Chile

The Curicó Valley is one of Chile's major wine regions, located approximately 185 miles south of Santiago in the Maule region of the Central Valley. Flanked by the Andes to the east and the coastal mountain range to the west, the valley runs roughly east to west and is crossed by the Lontue and Teno rivers, which converge to form the Mataquito River. These rivers have shaped the valley's soils over time, depositing alluvial and colluvial material from the Andes that includes limestone, volcanic rock, decomposed granite, clay, and sand in varying combinations.

The valley's climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers, mild winters, and the majority of rainfall concentrated in winter months. What sets Curicó apart from many of Chile's other wine valleys is the direction of its dominant temperature influence. Unlike coastal regions where cooler air comes from the west, the eastern part of Curicó, where most of the major producers including Viña Echeverría are located, is cooled by air descending from the Andes mountains. This creates a significant diurnal temperature variation that extends the growing season and helps grapes retain natural acidity alongside ripe fruit concentration.

Soils in the eastern zone around Molina and Curicó town include well-drained sandy loam with decomposed granite and quartz-rich material, which favors freshness and mineral character in white varieties. The combination of warm days, cool nights, and free-draining soils makes the area well suited to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carménère.

Curicó has more grape varieties planted than any other Chilean region, reflecting its role as both a workhorse production zone and an increasingly respected source of site-specific wines. The valley covers more than 54,000 acres under vine and is divided into two sub-regions: Teno to the north and Lontue to the south.
