The Producer: Domaine de la Patience

Domaine de La Patience counts among the very first wineries Jenny started to work with back in 2000 – and it has been an eventful path full of growth on both sides! Christophe had arrived at the helm of the family domain shortly before that in 1998, when he took over the vineyard from his father and gradually started to change things in multiple directions. The most important was the decision to go organic in 2007: “I realized I needed to stop poisoning myself with the chemical treatments we were using, as I felt worse and worse when working in the vineyards,” he recalls the concerns that led him to this decision, together with Jenny’s support of the move.

Christophe also gradually grew the Domaine from the original 15 hectares his family had: he now farms 100 hectares of organic-certified wines across the Costières de Nîmes and Coteaux du Pont du Gard, two neighboring AOCs with distinctive terroirs and a lingering scent of La Patience, the wild, aromatic Mediterranean herb that gave its name to the estate. “I’m really focused on the vineyards – the priority is to have beautiful vines and grapes, because then you have much less to do in the cellar. It really makes your life much easier. This is a journey that wouldn’t be possible without understanding your terroir first by seeing and feeling the link between what happens in the vineyard and then in the cellar.”

Oh yes, the cellar – the beautiful stone building from 1930, keeping the wines cool, has undergone a significant shift as well. Christophe has progressively changed the vinification methods, working towards a less interventionist approach with significantly less additives. “It’s good to be a companion to what nature has given us,” he explains his vision of making delicious, reliable wines without overtly heavy manipulations. The cuvées that Christophe makes for Jenny & Francois come either from his own (organic certified), or purchased (sustainable / practicing organic) grapes and, depending on the wine, are made with indigenous or neutral yeast, vegan-friendly fining, light filtration and as little sulfur as possible. Shipping & Returns

Shipping Policy

Stress-Free Shipping

At Primal Wine, we like to be transparent about everything we do. When it comes to buying products online, shipping is the most important aspect, and that’s why we take great care in shipping and handling your order using only 100% recycled packaging material.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to re-route a package after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a $25 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancelling fee – the amount depends on how big the order is. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat damage

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HEAT-RELATED ISSUES. WE OFFER ICE-PACKS AS ONE OF OUR SHIPPING OPTIONS. PLEASE SELECT THAT OPTION SHOULD YOU THINK THAT THERE COULD BE HEAT-RELATED ISSUES.
