Ercole Barbera del Monferrato is a red natural wine made from 100% Barbera grapes grown within the Barbera del Monferrato DOC appellation area of Piedmont. Importer's notes: "Many folks know the Barbera grape for its bright acidity, and this wine is no exception to the rule. Far less known is the fact that Monferrato’s most prestigious zones are dedicated to Barbera plantings. (The very opposite holds true in the Langhe, where Nebbiolo reigns supreme.) Typically planted to southern exposure, these vineyards yield wines of great depth and balance."

Ercole, named after the English equivalent "Hercules," emerges from a cooperative of local growers in the Monferrato region. These cultivators, committed to sustainable farming, harvest their fruit every autumn. This practice results in creating organic wines that truly embody the characteristics of their region and time. Such cooperatives play a vital role across Italy, upholding native grape varieties and age-old winemaking traditions.

The cooperative behind Ercole specializes in managing vineyards with 30 to 50-year-old vines. All growers align with the European Union's sustainable agriculture standards, known as "lotta integrata" or "lutte raisonnée". Many of these cultivators have achieved organic certification. Importantly, they avoid systemic or chemical treatments, limiting their use to minimal copper and sulfur applications. The entire process of making Ercole, from vinification to bottling, meets certified vegan standards, ensuring a wine that is authentic to its roots and environmentally conscious.

Signature on delivery is mandatory for wine deliveries. Please make sure someone is at the shipping address to sign for the package.

If applicable, please consider delivering the package to a business address to ensure someone is available to sign for the package.

We also have the option of delivering the package to a Carrier's store for pickup. Please reach out to us to coordinate.

Carrier will try to delivery a package up to three times before returning the package to us.
