Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Jean-Yves Péron

Jean-Yves Péron is a pioneering natural winemaker based in the Savoie region of the French Alps. Born and raised in Savoie, he studied oenology in Bordeaux in the late 1990s and gained experience working with renowned winemakers such as Thierry Allemand in Cornas and Bruno Schueller in Alsace. In 2004, he returned to his native region to establish his own domaine, focusing on reviving ancient vineyards and producing wines that express the unique alpine terroir.

Péron's vineyards are situated on steep, terraced slopes between 350 and 550 meters above sea level, primarily around the medieval village of Conflans and the commune of Fréterive. These plots are planted with old vines—some over a century old—of indigenous grape varieties such as Jacquère, Altesse, Roussanne, and Mondeuse. The soils, rich in mica-schist and limestone, contribute to the distinctive minerality of his wines. Péron practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, eschewing chemical treatments and certifications, preferring to let his wines speak for themselves.

In the cellar, Péron employs low-intervention techniques, including whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and minimal or no added sulfur. His red wines often undergo carbonic maceration, while his white wines may see extended skin contact, resulting in complex, textural expressions reminiscent of Northern Italian "orange" wines. Notable cuvées include "La Petite Robe," "Les Barrieux," and "Côtillon des Dames," each reflecting the nuances of their specific vineyard sites.

Beyond his estate wines, Péron has expanded his repertoire through the "I Vicini" project, collaborating with organic growers in Piedmont, Italy. This initiative allows him to work with Italian grape varieties like Barbera, Grignolino, and Moscato, applying his natural winemaking philosophy to new terroirs. Through both his Savoie-based wines and cross-border collaborations, Jean-Yves Péron continues to redefine the potential of alpine viticulture, crafting wines that are both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition.

Wine region

Savoie, France

Piedmont is Italy's most structurally complex red wine region, occupying the northwestern corner of the country in the foothills of the Alps and Apennines. It is home to more DOC and DOCG designations than any other Italian region, reflecting the extraordinary diversity of its soils, elevations, microclimates, and indigenous grape varieties. At the center of Piedmont's international reputation is Nebbiolo, the region's most celebrated red grape and the variety behind Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Gattinara, Ghemme, and multiple other appellations.

Nebbiolo is one of the most site-sensitive red grapes in the world. Its thin skin produces wines of high color transparency, its high natural acidity and firm tannin structure demand significant aging, and its aromatic profile, built on dried roses, tar, iron, and red cherry, is unmistakable. In the Langhe hills of Cuneo province, on the calcareous-clay soils of Alba, Barolo and Barbaresco have built reputations as Italy's equivalent of Burgundy's most prestigious crus. In the northern Piedmont zones of Gattinara and Ghemme, on volcanic and granite soils in the province of Novara and Vercelli, Nebbiolo produces wines of lighter body and more pronounced acidity, often compared to cool-climate Burgundy.

The vineyards in Casale Monferrato and Asti, where Jean-Yves Péron sources his Nebbiolo for the I Vicini, occupy the broader Monferrato zone east of the Langhe, on calcareous clay soils that are common across much of central Piedmont. These sites do not carry the prestige of Barolo or Barbaresco, but they produce Nebbiolo with genuine varietal character and the natural acidity that makes Péron's whole-bunch, extended-maceration approach viable: the grape's structural tension absorbs 3.5 months of skin and stem contact in a way that few other red varieties could manage without tipping into astringency.

The I Vicini Nebbiolo is labeled Vin de France, sitting outside the DOC system, because the winemaking takes place in Péron's cellar in Savoie rather than in Piedmont.
