Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Jean-Yves Péron

Jean-Yves Péron is a Savoie-born winemaker who established his domaine in 2004 in Chevaline, near Lake Annecy, after oenology studies in Bordeaux and formative years working with Thierry Allemand in Cornas and Bruno Schueller in Alsace, two figures central to the development of natural winemaking in France. He also spent time in Oregon and New Zealand before returning to the Alps, and the combination of French natural wine philosophy and New World openness to unconventional approaches is visible across his range.

His estate covers approximately 4.5 hectares of micro-parcels on steep terraced slopes in Conflans and Fréterive, planted with Jacquère, Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse, and Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, some vines over a century old. In 2011 he obtained a négociant license to supplement his estate production with purchased organic grapes from trusted growers, initially in Savoie and later in Alsace (the Les Voisins series) and Piedmont (the I Vicini series). The I Vicini project began formally in 2017, developed with the help of his friend Pietro Vergano, a Piedmont-based wine professional with deep connections to the region's small organic growers. Péron's Piedmontese partners include Paolo Angelino in Casale Monferrato and Giorgio Barbero in Asti, both organic farmers whose fruit has anchored the I Vicini range since its inception.

The I Vicini label represents Péron's sustained engagement with Piedmontese varieties, vinified in his cellar in Savoie using the same principles that govern his estate wines: whole-bunch fermentation, native yeasts, no fining, no filtration, zero added sulfites, and aging in old neutral oak or amphora. The range includes Barbera, Grignolino, Cortese, Moscato, Nebbiolo, and Favorita, each handled in a way that reflects Péron's interest in what happens when French natural wine technique is applied to Italian grape material. The Favorita is one of the most approachable wines in the I Vicini lineup, and one of the most direct expressions of the variety outside of conventional Piedmontese production.

Wine region

Savoie, France

Piedmont is Italy's northwestern wine region, occupying a broad plain and series of rolling hills enclosed on three sides by the Alps and bounded to the south by the Apennines. It is one of Italy's most celebrated wine territories, home to Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d'Asti, and Moscato d'Asti, and is widely regarded as the country's most aristocratic wine region in terms of the prestige and aging potential of its best reds. The area where Jean-Yves Péron sources fruit for the I Vicini range, including the Favorita, is concentrated in the Monferrato and Asti provinces in central Piedmont, where the landscape transitions from the Langhe hills in the south to the flatter Po plain to the north.

Favorita is an ancient Piedmontese white grape, believed by some ampelographers to be a biotype of Vermentino, the variety more widely planted in Sardinia, Liguria, and Tuscany. In Piedmont, it is grown primarily in the Langhe and Roero DOC zones, where it produces light, aromatic dry whites with lemon, peach, and floral character. The grape is naturally high in acidity and low in phenolic structure, which makes it well suited to the partial maceration approach Péron uses: the 15 days of whole-bunch skin contact adds texture and salinity without overwhelming the variety's inherent delicacy.

The vineyards from which Péron sources Favorita for the I Vicini project are on sandy clay soils at approximately 1,050 ft elevation, on the semi-slopes typical of the Monferrato hills. Sandy soils drain freely, warm quickly, and produce wines with a particular freshness and light body. The elevation and clay component moderate summer heat and retain enough moisture to sustain the vine through dry periods without irrigation. The combination of these soil and climate conditions suits Favorita well, producing grapes with full phenolic ripeness alongside natural acidity that holds up through maceration and lees aging.
