The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils, contributing to the wine's characteristic minerality and freshness.

This Beaujolais wine undergoes a cold carbonic fermentation for one week, followed by six months of aging in concrete tanks. The result is a bright, juicy wine with aromas of red berries such as strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by a touch of earthiness. Domaine Saint-Cyr, located in the southern part of the Beaujolais region in Anse, France, is a celebrated winery known for its organic and biodynamic practices. Pierre Saint-Cyr founded the winery, now managed by the fourth generation, Raphael Saint-Cyr, who took over in 2008. Under Raphael's leadership, the estate has shifted towards organic viticulture, making it the largest certified organic domain in the Beaujolais, with 23 hectares of vineyards.

Raphael expanded the vineyard holdings further north into the crus of Morgon, Regnié, Chénas, and Moulin-à-Vent. The winery focuses on natural winemaking processes, including using native yeasts and minimal intervention. Their wines are fermented in concrete tanks and aged in used barrels, emphasizing the natural flavors and characteristics of the terroir.

One of their notable wines is "La Galoche," a light and fruity Gamay that embodies the spirit of Beaujolais. Apart from Beaujolais Nouveau, the region also produces more structured and complex wines, particularly from the ten Crus of Beaujolais, named areas recognized for higher quality. These crus include Brouilly, Morgon, and Moulin-à-Vent, among others. Wines from these areas are capable of aging and evolving complexity over several years.

Beaujolais wine production is divided into three classifications: Beaujolais AOC, for wines typically light and fruity, suitable for immediate consumption; Beaujolais-Villages AOC, coming from 38 designated municipalities and offering slightly higher complexity; and the aforementioned Cru Beaujolais, from the ten specific areas known for their distinctive and more robust wines.

The Beaujolais region produces approximately 70 million liters annually, accounting for nearly half of all Gamay-based wines globally. Signature on delivery is mandatory for wine deliveries. Please make sure someone is at the shipping address to sign for the package.

If applicable, please consider delivering the package to a business address to ensure someone is available to sign for the package.

We also have the option of delivering the package to a Carrier's store for pickup. Please reach out to us to coordinate.

Carrier will try to delivery a package up to three times before returning the package to us.
