Milan Nestarec Danger Pet-Nat 2023

$37.00

Danger 380 Volts is an electrifying, get it, get it, pet-nat that harmoniously combines Neuburger's depth, Muscat's aromatic florals, and Müller-Thurgau's zesty acidity. Its natural fermentation and unfiltered bottling result in a lively, characterful sparkler.

Sustainable Handmade Low-sulfites Low-intervention
Description

Milan Nestarec Danger 380 Volts is a pétillant naturel (pet-nat) sparkling white wine from Moravia, Czech Republic. This blend comprises Müller-Thurgau, Neuburger, and Moravian Muscat grapes, all organically farmed in estate-owned vineyards. The winemaking process involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by bottling without fining, filtration, or added sulfur. This minimal intervention approach captures the wine's natural vibrancy and character.

Tasting notes

In the glass, Danger 380 Volts presents a cloudy lemon-yellow hue. The nose has fresh aromas of pomelo and grapefruit. On the palate, it offers delicate effervescence with flavors of green apples and nectarines, balanced by refreshing acidity and a medium body, leading to a crisp, invigorating finish.

Food pairings

This wine pairs excellently with grilled sausages, a traditional Czech dish.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to re-route a package after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancelling fee – the amount depends on how big the order is. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat/frost-related issues. for heat we offer ice-packs upon request. please let us know should you think that there could be heat-related issues. again, if we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Producer profile

Milan Nestarec

Milan Nestarec is one of the leading figures in the Central European natural wine movement, based in the Moravian village of Velké Bílovice in the Czech Republic. Born into a winemaking family, Milan took over his family's 8-hectare estate in the early 2000s and has since transformed it into a dynamic 24-hectare vineyard project focused on organic farming, minimal intervention, and radical authenticity.

Nestarec’s vineyards are located in the rolling hills of Moravia, a region known for its cool continental climate and diverse soils. These conditions lend themselves beautifully to aromatic white varietals like Grüner Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, Neuburger, Riesling, and Moravian Muscat, as well as reds such as Blaufränkisch (Lemberger), Pinot Noir, and Zweigelt. All grapes are estate-grown and farmed organically without synthetic chemicals.

In the cellar, Nestarec uses spontaneous fermentation, avoids filtration and fining, and adds little or no sulfur. His wines are expressive, energetic, and often bottled with a playful, irreverent aesthetic. Labels like Forks & Knives, Danger 380 Volts, TRBLMKR, and Nach reflect his philosophy: wines that are serious in quality but joyful in spirit.

Wine region

Moravia, Czech Republic

Milan Nestarec produces his wines in Moravia, the primary winegrowing region of the Czech Republic. Located in the southeastern part of the country near the borders of Austria and Slovakia, Moravia accounts for over 90% of the Czech Republic’s vineyard area and is widely recognized for its vibrant natural wine scene and diverse terroirs. The region benefits from a cool continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters. This climate, combined with loess, clay, limestone, and sandy soils, provides ideal conditions for producing expressive wines with freshness, precision, and aromatic complexity. The cooler temperatures help preserve acidity, making Moravian wines especially lively and food-friendly.

Moravia is traditionally known for its white varietals, such as Grüner Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Welschriesling, and Sauvignon Blanc, though red grapes like Blaufränkisch (Frankovka), Pinot Noir, and Zweigelt are also grown with increasing success. In recent years, a new generation of winemakers—led by producers like Milan Nestarec—has embraced organic farming and low-intervention cellar practices, putting Moravia on the international map for natural wine. With its mix of tradition, innovation, and a strong connection to the land, Moravia is one of Europe’s most exciting emerging wine regions.
