Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package gets returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee to be determined based on shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive, we are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to re-route a package after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancelling fee – the amount depends on how big the order is. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat/frost-related issues. for heat we offer ice-packs upon request. please let us know should you think that there could be heat-related issues. again, if we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Producer profile

Domaine de la Petite Sœur

Domaine de la Petite Sœur, founded by Adrien de Mello, is a natural wine producer in Anjou, in the Loire Valley of France. De Mello started the winery with a strong focus on biodynamic and organic farming, ensuring that all vineyard practices respect the environment and foster biodiversity. The winery is certified organic, with the vineyards planted primarily on schist and limestone soils, contributing to the wines' signature minerality and freshness.

The estate produces various wines, including whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling. One of the standout features of Domaine de la Petite Sœur's winemaking philosophy is the low-intervention approach, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes and terroir to express themselves fully. The wines are fermented spontaneously using wild yeasts, and no sulfites are added during the winemaking process. The cellar work emphasizes minimal manipulation, and the wines are bottled without filtering or fining. Signature wines include Plasma 2023, a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. This wine offers a fresh, vibrant profile with notes of red berries and a saline finish, perfect for warm days.

Wine region

Anjou, France

Anjou, located in the heart of the Loire Valley in western France, is one of the region's most diverse and historic wine-producing areas. Known for its wide range of wine styles, from dry and off-dry whites to rich, full-bodied reds and world-renowned sweet wines, Anjou thrives on its varied terroir and climate.

Climate and Terroir

The region benefits from a temperate maritime climate, with the Loire River playing a crucial role in moderating temperatures, creating favorable conditions for viticulture. The soils in Anjou are a mix of schist, limestone, and volcanic rock, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the minerality that often characterizes the region's wines.

Key Grape Varieties

  • Chenin Blanc is Anjou's signature white grape, producing everything from dry, mineral-driven wines to luscious, botrytized sweet wines like Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume.
  • Cabernet Franc is the main red grape used in the production of Anjou Rouge and Saumur-Champigny. These wines are known for their bright fruit flavors and herbaceous, earthy notes.
  • Anjou also produces rosé wines, Rosé d'Anjou and Cabernet d'Anjou being notable examples. These wines offer vibrant, refreshing profiles.
