Fiky Fiky

Fiky Fiky - natural wine producer profile | Primal Wine illustration

Fiky Fiky is a Los Angeles negociant project with a wink built into its name, taken from an old Italian disco song and a cheeky nod to a one-night stand. The wines themselves are serious about California terroir and minimal handling.

History and People

Fiky Fiky Wines is run by friends Ty Steidle and Brock Larson. Based in Los Angeles, the project sources fruit and vinifies in Northern California, with cellar work in Healdsburg. The mission is to spotlight grape varieties suited to California's shifting climate and to make wines with little to no intervention.

The Region

The duo work as negociants, buying fruit from California growers and bringing it to a shared cellar in Healdsburg in Sonoma County.

Vineyards and Farming

They source from diligent farmers using regenerative and sustainable practices, with vineyards farmed organically and/or biodynamically and no synthetic chemical applications.

Winemaking

Every Fiky Fiky wine is a wild ferment, started only by the yeasts already present on the grapes and allowed to run its course, with only tiny amounts of sulfur dioxide added if and when absolutely necessary.

The Wines

The range is a rotating set of California bottlings, including white and red field blends and varietal wines built around the fruit each vintage offers.
