Barbichette Nuit Blanche 2022

Barbichette is a natural wine producer based in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Founded by Louisiane Remy and César Vega, the winery showcases the full expression of locally grown fruit. They collaborate with growers who follow sustainable farming practices.

Barbichette wines are made using simple, manual methods without added sulfites, commercial yeasts, chemical additives, or filtration. The winery produces several cuvées, including Riesling, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Seyval Blanc. Their wines are known for their purity, reflecting a commitment to quality and terroir.

New York State is one of the most significant wine-producing regions in the United States, ranking third in volume behind California and Washington. The state boasts six major wine-growing regions and 11 AVAs, including the Finger Lakes, Long Island, Hudson River Region, and Lake Erie. Each area offers a unique terroir, contributing to the diversity of New York wines.

The Finger Lakes is the most notable region, particularly famous for its Riesling, which thrives in the cool climate and limestone-rich soils. Other successful grape varieties include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Franc. The region is also known for its ice wines, made from grapes harvested after being frozen on the vine.
