Domaine la Bohème Festejar! Rosé 2023 is a pétillant naturel rosé made from Pinot Noir and Gamay d'Auvergne grown on new vines rooted in basalt soils on the Plateau de Gergovie, in the Puy-de-Dôme department of Auvergne. Produced by Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau at Domaine la Bohème, the 2023 combines direct pressing with whole-cluster maceration, followed by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. Bottled using the méthode ancestrale to capture a natural sparkle, the wine is unfined, unfiltered, and made with no added sulfur. At 12.5% ABV, Domaine la Bohème Festejar! Rosé 2023 is drier and deeper in color than previous vintages.

Important Compliance Requirements

FedEx and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older. Someone must be at the address to receive the package, carriers don't just drop a package and leave. They must ensure the person receiving the wine is 21 or older.

Re-shipping a Package

If a package is returned to us after three failed delivery attempts, we can only re-ship the wine upon payment of a re-shipping fee, to be determined based on the shipping address and number of bottles. Shipping wine is extremely expensive. We are sorry about this, but we have no other choice. Please make sure there's always someone at the address you enter as your shipping address.

If you'd like to receive a refund for a package that was returned to us after FedEx made three delivery attempts, we can do that but we must keep a $20 refund fee; FedEx charges us a lot of money for returns, unfortunately, I can't stress this enough.

Re-routing a Package

If you'd like to reroute a package after it's been shipped, we can do so for a $20 re-routing fee. We cannot re-route a package across state borders. For any change of address, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 1-2 days from placing the order or we cannot guarantee we'll be able to reroute or change your order's shipping address.

Canceling an Order

If you'd like to cancel an order after it's been shipped, we can do so upon payment of a small cancellation fee – the amount depends on the size of the order. Carriers charge us a lot of money to recall a package en-route.

Heat/Frost damage

We are not responsible for heat- or frost-related issues. We offer ice-packs upon request. Please let us know if you think that there could be heat-related issues. If we don't hear anything from you regarding weather issues before an order is shipped, or if you don't request a hold due to the weather, we are not responsible for heat/frost damage.

Placed an order. What next?

1. You will receive an order confirmation email with your order summary.*

2. As soon as your order ships from the warehouse, usually within 2-3 business days, this applies to all shipping rates, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information. 2DAY shipping refers to shipping time; we still need 2-3 business days to prepare an order. We need to pick and pack, QA, add printed collateral, and palletize the orders.

3. Please track your package using the tracking service.

4. The carrier will attempt delivery a maximum of 3 times. After 3 delivery attempts, your package will be sent back to our warehouse.**

*Please ensure your email address is correct; otherwise, you will not receive the order and shipping confirmation emails.

**If delivery is attempted 3 times without success, or if you fail to retrieve your package from the carrier depot by the stated deadline, the shipping fee will not be refunded to the customer.

Producer profile

Domaine la Bohème

Domaine la Bohème is the project of Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau, based in Glaine-Montaigut in the Puy-de-Dôme. Bouju's path to winemaking was indirect: born in Poitou-Charentes, he studied chemistry in Clermont-Ferrand, where he discovered an intolerance to sulfites that pointed him toward natural wine. Military service in Chalon-sur-Saône in the mid-1990s brought him into contact with the sons of low-intervention winemakers from Burgundy and the Loire, which shaped his direction. He went on to study viticulture in Beaune before returning to Auvergne, where he gradually built up a small plot of vines around his home village. His first commercial vintage was in 2002; he left his job as an engineer to farm full time in 2008.

The domaine now covers around 8 to 9 hectares, farmed organically and worked partly by horse, spread across multiple parcels in the Puy-de-Dôme. Some vines are over 120 years old and pre-phylloxera. The estate is centered on Gamay d'Auvergne, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay on basalt, with Bouju also cultivating around 50 varieties including rare indigenous types like the Mirefleurien. In response to challenging vintages and a desire to expand his range, Bouju launched a négociant line in 2014, sourcing grapes from growers across France and occasionally Greece. This allows the portfolio to include wines from Beaujolais, Savoie, the Languedoc, and beyond, all made to the same zero-additive standard as the estate wines.

Every wine from Domaine la Bohème is made with zero added sulfur. Fermentation is always spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, and all wines are bottled without fining or filtration.

Wine region

Auvergne, France

Auvergne sits in the heart of France, in the Massif Central, and is one of the country's oldest wine-producing territories. Viticulture here stretches back to Roman times and possibly earlier, though the region lost the majority of its vineyards to the combined effects of phylloxera and the rural depopulation of the early 20th century. The result is a landscape where old vines are genuinely scarce, and where working them requires a commitment that goes well beyond what conventional viticulture demands.

The Puy-de-Dôme is the department at the core of Auvergne's wine revival, and its defining feature is the diversity of its volcanic geology. The Plateau de Gergovie, south of Clermont-Ferrand and historically famous as the site of Vercingetorix's defeat of Caesar, is composed largely of basalt, the volcanic rock that gives wines from the area their smoky mineral character and cool-climate freshness. At elevations ranging from 350 to over 600 metres above sea level, the vineyards benefit from significant diurnal temperature swings that preserve acidity and aromatics even in warm growing seasons.

The main appellation in the area is Côtes d'Auvergne AOC, awarded in 2011, which covers five subzones in the Puy-de-Dôme. Outside this framework, many producers, including Domaine la Bohème, release wines as Vin de France to retain flexibility in blending and labeling. The dominant red grapes are Gamay d'Auvergne and Pinot Noir, both of which thrive in the cool-climate, high-altitude conditions of the plateau. Gamay here differs noticeably from its Beaujolais expressions, producing denser, spicier wines with an earthy, mineral edge shaped by the basalt.
