Castello di Verduno Barbaresco Rabajà originates from the esteemed Rabajà vineyard in Piedmont, Italy. This vineyard is renowned for its south-facing slopes and calcareous clay soils, which provide optimal conditions for cultivating Nebbiolo grapes. This vintage experienced favorable weather, leading to optimal ripening. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure quality. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, then aging in large Slavonian oak casks for approximately 18 months. This traditional winemaking approach allows the wine to develop complexity while preserving the varietal's characteristic aromas and flavors.

Why we like it

The Barbaresco Rabajà displays a mid-ruby color with orange tinges. The nose is subdued, offering balsamic spice notes alongside soft, rich strawberry fruit. The palate presents a muscular structure with a slightly tart finish, complemented by a long fruit aroma.

Castello di Verduno, located in the Piedmont region of Italy, boasts a rich history intertwined with the evolution of Barolo wine. The castle's origins date back to the early 16th century, with significant developments occurring over the centuries. In 1838, King Carlo Alberto of Savoy acquired the estate and, under the guidance of enologist General Paolo Francesco Staglieno, initiated the production of Barolo wine at the castle. This endeavor laid the foundation for modern Barolo winemaking. The estate's vineyards are in the Langhe district, renowned for its rolling hills and diverse soils, including clay, sand, and limestone. This unique terroir, combined with a favorable microclimate, provides ideal conditions for cultivating Nebbiolo grapes, the primary varietal used in Barolo and Barbaresco wines.

Today, Castello di Verduno produces esteemed wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, and Verduno Pelaverga. The winery employs traditional vinification methods, including fermentation in stainless steel and aging in large oak casks, to preserve the authenticity and complexity of their wines. Notably, the estate was among the first to plant an entire vineyard with Pelaverga Piccolo grapes in 1972, showcasing their commitment to indigenous varietals. Under the ownership of the Burlotto family since 1909, Castello di Verduno continues to honor its historical legacy while producing wines that reflect the distinctive character of the Langhe region.

Carrier will try to delivery a package up to three times before returning the package to us.
