Two Sonoma kids who grew up together and now make wine together, Dan and Jack turn what most wineries throw away into a juicy, low-alcohol fizz.
The Collaboration
'Dan and Jack' is a collaborative project between two born-and-raised Sonoma natives: Dan Marioni of Marioni Wine and Jack Sporer of Fres.Co. Longtime friends, they make this wine together at Jack's natural-wine custom-crush facility, Magnolia Wine Services, in Sonoma. Jack founded Fres.Co to support local farmers and push Sonoma Valley toward regenerative agriculture, putting the grower's name on the back of every bottle.
The Region
The fruit comes from Sonoma Valley in California, where Fres.Co works with growers transitioning toward regenerative farming and Marioni farms organically across the valley.
Farming & Winemaking
Both makers share a hands-off, additive-free approach: wild spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts, no commercial yeast or additions, no fining or filtration, and minimal to no added sulfur. The work happens in the vineyard so the cellar can stay quiet.
The Wine
Their Miho is a piquette, made by rehydrating pressed Primitivo skins and pomace, then conditioning the refermentation with Primitivo juice. The result is a lightly sparkling, easy-drinking wine of around 11% alcohol: a low-waste, low-alcohol expression of friendship and Sonoma fruit.
