The wine then aged for 5 months across a combination of ceramic barrel, old barriques, and steel tank before being blended and bottled without fining or filtration, and with no added sulfites.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCortona is a hillside appellation in eastern Tuscany, perched near 600 meters above sea level in the Val di Chiana. Soils here are clay-based with silt and sand of Pliocene and Pleistocene origin.
