The wine then ages on fine lees for 10 months in 15-hectoliter raw concrete tanks. No fining, no filtration, no added enzymes or acidification.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLoureiro is an aromatic, high-acid variety whose name derives from the Portuguese word for laurel. In its conventional form it produces bright citrus and floral wines; extended skin contact here amplifies its textural weight, adds a saline grip, and deepens the aromatic register toward orange blossom, stone fruit, and a distinctive herbal edge. At 12.5% ABV it stays light on its feet despite the maceration.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRaiz Macerado is bottled under the Vinho de Portugal designation, unfined and unfiltered.
