The nose leads with tart red cherry, wild strawberry, black pepper, and anise — the hallmark aromatics of Pineau d'Aunis. The palate is light-bodied with searing acidity, soft tannins, and a flinty, mineral-driven finish with a hint of garrigue. Patapon is the name of a clown character from a French children's nursery rhyme, and the label carries the motto \"Vigneron Non Conforme.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNathalie Gaubicher now runs the domaine with the help of a full-time vineyard worker and returns for pruning, harvest, and vinification.
