White wine from Niagara, Canada made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from 2 different parcels of younger vines that are grown in sandy, stony soils and the other in red clay soils rich in iron. Fermented and aged in a combination of neutral barriques and demi-muid. Very low in sulfites, added only at bottling (25ppm total).

The Chardonnay “Metis” is sourced from 2 different parcels of younger vines that are grown in sandy, stony soils and the other in red clay soils rich in iron. Fermented and aged in a combination of neutral barriques and demi-muid, and SO2 is added only at bottling (25ppm total).

We don’t imitate. We don’t emulate. Through a process of exploration and experimentation, we produce limited quantities of quality wine that reveal the beauty of our Niagara wine region.

Like any craft, a great discipline is knowing when to do nothing at all. With this in mind, we remain very hands-off with low levels of intervention. Our job is to guide the wine as opposed to fixing the wine. Our grapes are carefully hand-picked solely on the basis of skin maturity. This approach enables each grape to impart its unique character in every glass.

Primal Wine is not backed by venture capital money – we proudly are a mom and pop independent online store – and we must charge shipping on all orders, otherwise we wouldn’t be in business.
