It then ages for three years in large Slavonian oak botti (ranging from 7 to 40 hectoliters), followed by at least three to four additional years in bottle before release — meaning this 2013 did not reach market until approximately 2021.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe result is a wine with tertiary depth layered over still-present dark fruit. Sappy black cherry, cassis, roasted plum, and wild black raspberry sit alongside leather, mountain herbs, espresso, cedar, and tobacco. The palate is medium-plus in body with extremely fine tannins and a persistent streak of acidity anchoring a mineral core of crushed black stone and fired clay.
