Her project, Vin de Lagamba, reflects the trajectory of a life spent moving between cultures: it is equal parts German, Italian in spirit, and entirely its own thing. She began after gaining experience at JAJA Berlin and drinking, by her own count, more than a thousand natural wines. When you have done that kind of research, you know what you want to make.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlanna's first vintage produced FrauenPower, a fruity, energetic pet-nat made from Dornfelder and Sylvaner grown in the Rheinhessen. Inspired by the Italian Lambrusco style, she macerates part of the Dornfelder in whole bunches for a week, presses the rest directly, and blends the two fractions before bottling for secondary fermentation.
