The Wine: Vinho Verde Sem Mal 2018
Sem Mal is a natural wine made from a blend of 70% Azal and 30% Arinto. Malolactic fermentation in the bottle, no added sulfites. The name "Sem Mal" literally meaning "without evil", is a play on the production method – "no mal(ic)". The result is a fresh, light, and refreshing wine with a fine bubble. Citrus fruit notes and wet stones. Pleasantly fizzy and slightly cloudy.
The Producer: João Camizão
Artisan winemaker João Camizão is a member of the "Vinho Verde Young Projects" group of four young producers who are dedicated to getting back to their roots and create their own wine, inspired by their ancestors.
