Why You Should Try It

The Wine: Les Rouquins Pinot Noir 2018

Vini Viti Vinci Les Rouquins Pinot Noir is a red natural wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from Burgundy by talented winemaker Nicolas Vauthier.

The Producer: Vini Viti Vinci

Nicolas Vauthier, or Kikro as he is known by his friends, has been a big fan of natural wines; he has been on the forefront of promoting the wines he loves for many years. He had a long career working in wine, starting by actually attending enology school and working at wineries in Washington State as well as France, learning how to make very industrial wines. He then embarked on a career at retail wine in France, where he soon discovered the wines that would become his real passion. After that he helped open Aux Crieurs de Vins, a well-known and favorite natural wine bar in Troyes in nearby Champagne. Aux Crieurs was one of the first natural wine bars in France, and its status is still legendary today. He sold his interest in the wine bar and after a time working with Philippe Pacalet, he used his many years of experience tasting the best natural wines France had to offer, to start his own micro-negociant winery in 2009, in the spirit of other small Burgundian winemakers such as Pacalet.

The Region: Beaujolais

The Beaujolais wine region is located south of Burgundy. It stretches for about 50km from the town of Mâcon and its characteristic rolling hills to the flatlands bordering the regional capital and world-renown culinary center Lyon on the north.

Beaujolais wine region is split in two by the Nizerand River. The north of the river is where we find the Crus and Beaujolais Villages, whereas south of the river is where Beaujolais and Beaujolais Nouveau are made.

Gamay is the dominant grape varietal of the region giving its best when grown on the granite and sandy clay soils north of the Nizerand River and made into Beaujolais Crus and Beaujolais Villages easy-drinking delicious wines.

There are ten Beaujolais Crus where the best Beaujolais are made: Brouilly, Chenas, Chiroubles, Cote de Brouilly, Fleurie, Julienas, Morgon, Moulin-a-Vent, Regnie, and Saint-Amour.

Shipping & Returns

Stress Free Shipping

At Primal Wine we like to be transparent about everything we do. When it comes to buying products online, shipping is the most important aspect, and that’s why we take great care in shipping and handling your order using only 100% recycled packaging material.

Important Compliance Requirements

UPS and other carriers we might occasionally use can only deliver wine to customers who are 21 years or older.

Important COVID Update

UPS and FedEx declared that in order to protect their workers and customers, they no longer require a signature on delivery. This does not mean they will drop a wine box at your door. UPS delivery workers will make sure the person receiving the wine is 21 years or older, and will ask for his/her name - only then do they deliver the package.

Shipping Rates and Options

An important premise: wine bottles are heavy – about 3 pounds each – and shipping is expensive! Primal Wine is not backed by venture capital money – we proudly are a mom and pop independent online store – and we must charge shipping on all orders, otherwise we wouldn’t be in business. However, we try our best to offer you very competitive shipping rates.

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us at (424) 414-2040 or via e-mail at hello@primalwine.com between 9 am and 5 pm Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Sunday, we would like to understand and try to solve your concerns.

We may make arrangements for a return and refund if appropriate, and only after we receive unopened products back to our warehouse.
