Based in Katzenthal, Domaine Meyer-Fonné blends 60% Pinot Auxerrois, 20% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Blanc, and 5% Pinot Noir sourced from granitic soils with alluvial deposits. The grapes undergo gentle pressing, primary fermentation in stainless steel and traditional foudres, then secondary fermentation in bottle with a minimum of 12 months on the lees. This Grand Cru Gewurztraminer comes from the  Wineck-Schlossberg, a south-facing terroir of strongly weathered two-mica granite known as \"de Turckheim\"  in the village of Katzenthal.  The Domaine has always been farmed organically and Felix likes to play around with a few biodynamic techniques, preferring large, older foudres (wooden barrels) in conjunction with stainless steel vats for the more aromatic varieties.
