The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards in Monreale, in western Sicily's Palermo hinterland, at around 200 meters elevation on clayey black earth soils. Vines average roughly 14 years old at the time of this vintage. The wine is labeled Terre Siciliane IGT.

Harvest is done by hand in the second week of September. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, with 7 days of maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation is carried out, and the wine then ages for 7 to 8 months in steel tanks on the fine lees before bottling in May. Total sulfites are kept to 25 mg/L.

The result is a deep amber-orange wine with real texture and density. The nose shows candied apricot, orange zest, spice, and a saline undertone.
