The Muenchberg Grand Cru covers 17 hectares in total, of which Ostertag owns 2.05 hectares, including 1.65 hectares planted to Riesling.   The Muenchberg site sits in a south-facing amphitheater in Nothalten at the foot of the Vosges mountains, combining volcanic sediment and the pink sandstone of the Vosges with a touch of limestone.
